Blank Tileset
Prepared by O)FaRTy1billion
Here lies the best tileset ever!
What is this?
It's a tileset that contains minimal data. It has no minitiles, it has no megatiles, it has no images, and it has no properties. All it has is 1 null minitile and megatile (just so it wouldn't break editors. Plus those are there anyway.)
How is this useful?
When you add rows to existing tilesets the imagedata is just appended to end of the minitiles and megatiles. For full tileset modifications, you still have the old tileset present. If creating a whole new tileset, this has no data to be left behind to be cleared out.
What do I do?
First, replace the Blank.wpe with the palette you are using (be sure it is WPE format). Open the tileset in your favorite tileset editor (a whole lot to choose from!) and start adding your groups. If you don't know how to set the properties, check the tileset that you are replacing.
Wait! There isn't any room for my doodads!
Doodads start at group id 1024. You probably noticed that is where Blank.cv5 stops. Just add rows as necessary, if you can't then your favorite tileset editor isn't good enough (PyTILE can).
I added my groups, now what?
Make sure your properties are all set and in working order, make sure your doodads have unique doodad IDs and proper placeability.
Then what?
If you used a custom/modified palette, you need to edit the pcx files found in the Blank subdir. You can either just copy/paste them from an existing tileset, change the palette, fix where needed and be good or you can create your own. Be sure to use the same palette as the .wpe or else you're going to have weird results.
Congratulations! You have your new tileset!
